Overview

Wedderlie House is a Brand New Wedding Venue nestled in the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Borders. Situated under 40 miles away from Edinburgh city centre, Wedderlie is available for exclusive hire and can sleep up to 45 guests on-site within our various accommodation settings as well as host up to 150 guests for your special day.

Our accommodation consists of the 16th Century Mansion house, the Cottage, our recently converted Hayloft and 2 newly-built cabins. We also welcome private events and holiday rentals.

We are a unique, exclusive use wedding and events venue on a private estate and whether it’s the converted stables with stunning, far-reaching views, a scenic garden marquee or an outdoor ceremony in the colourful rose garden, the choice is yours at Wedderlie. Function spaces consist of two beautifully converted barns; an onsite bar; and the garden marquee with seating for 150 at round tables.

Wedderlie House is a family run business with an experienced events team. With a limited number of weddings each year, we work closely with each couple to plan their perfect day. No two weddings are the same at Wedderlie, and we encourage each couple to create a unique and truly unforgettable experience. Our ethos is simple: Your Estate, Your stay, Your way.

Amazing Venue

The venue is truly amazing and it's obvious a great deal of imagination, care and attention to detail and love has gone into making Wedderlie House such a brilliant place for all ages to enjoy the coming together of friends and family.

Extremely welcoming and great facilities

We were made to feel so welcome and encouraged to fully utilise all the facilities available. The hot tub was a really nice touch and the fact that it was log-powered was fantastic. We loved the tennis court which was immaculate and equipment provided was good quality and plentiful. The front lawn was a good venue for game of cricket and the peacocks even strutted over to see what we were up to which was very funny!

Fabulous Function Spaces

The "Un-Stable" Bar is a brilliant idea and such great utilisation of the space whilst keeping the traditional features of the stable intact. The bar, courtyard and barn space combined with the marquee make a really cosy and fun feeling venue for a wedding party, we especially loved the fire baskets in the courtyard and marshmallow toasting was a real hit with the guests.
